Am looking at ways to reduce my water bill as am paying £350 a month 

I am going to build a rain harvest but all so looking at putting a cheap ro on my waste to go back in the tank

Can anyone recommend a cheap ro that they have used, even if only last a year am sure its going to save me money

south west water is even more expensive but i am lucky not to have a water meter

See what the water pressure is on your waste and see if you can get that through an ro. Then you twin di it. Tds your waste then work out what % of pure you'll get. Twin ro's both go on the inlet,not one on the waste

Dont know if this will work but cant you loop the waste around and with a t-piece fitting feed it back in just before your prefilters?
So that way the water going into your r.o would be the tap water and waste?
Would imagine the problem comes when flushing though....
Just an idea, i dont know anyone who's tried it though....

sadly it would foul the membranes on the 40 40 ro

I'd either look to move house or reduce my usage by maybe lowering the flow rate on a controller and/or using maybe an aqua-dapter.

£350 per month??? Jeez that's gotta hurt. Over 15 times the amount that I pay. Feel for you paying that much.

My bills have shot up my last one was £750 for a quarter. Coincidentally they've just put a new meter on so I can't check their readings. My own meter shows I used slightly less water than last year. I'm convinced there is a massive con going on. You can't change water supplier so they've got you by the balls.

If you used di only for £350 per month you would get 5 bags of resin for that.

I think if you used 1 -2 bags a month would half your bill.

i rent a house that has a well bored in the garden.  The landlord said that it cost him 2000 quid to put in.  don't use wfp so don't know if this would be any good.  Might be worth looking into.

The point of my post was to find a ro to go on my waste and found that tonight and just emailed Daqua

Will have to look at the aqua-dapter, turning down my water flow and getting my head around building a rain-harvest

I have a water meter and wouldn't dare to fill my van up at home!!

I Use a merlin ro with a 350 litre tank, & 1 Di bottle and fill up as I go,

Good filters gives me between 15 & 25 tds after merlin and will cost you nothing.

Use commercial sites if poss as long as your waste goes down a grid and don't make a mess, they won't bat an eye lid.

£350 a month is mega bucks down the drain,

 I will fill ya tank for ya every day for less.
