Nice fella
« on: May 10, 2013, 10:36:50 pm »
Friend of a friend has given me some work-all told about £500 a month.
Says he doesn't want anything for it.
I can't give him nothing though.
I was thinking of £500 as a goodwill..
Anyone got any ideas?

don't give him money, ask your friend what does he drink? for example if he likes whisky, offer him a very nice bottle or 2 of whisky . Or if he plays golf for example, buy him a gift voucher where he can buy golf equipment etc...

I'm split on giving him about a full months clean money and a very expensive bottle of something...

plus 1... this is what i'd do too!

Nah, I'm only joking! I'd just make prank call's to his house and threaten him everyday for a few weeks to stay off my patch. and to add insult to injury i wouldn't even state where my "patch" is  ;)

It makes people feel good about them selfs having done a good turn for others.. I struggle taking anything from anyone without paying and my wife's told me off for insisting they take money as they wanna do a good turn for you.
See him face to face and put £150 in his hand but if he don't want to take it don't make him.

Cheers bud.
It's much less tiring doing 12 hours on the glass than 6 with the boy!

The local old guy that has worked in my town for 40+ years gives us loads of work for free.

I've tried offering money but its not what their after, they are just happy knowing the work is going to someone they trust.

I buy him a couple bottles of wine at christmas, and pay for him and his wife to go out for a meal.
