all carbon poles will leave your hands black if you dont use gloves.

buy a 30ft SLX if you want a quality, light, rigid pole and wear gloves.

Don't have black hands with my pheonix
not yet  ;)

Let you know when I do   ;D
thanks  ;D

Gloves?
Can't understand why you all moan about black hands, just use gloves and rinse the pole regularly. All carbon poles will give you black hands in the end surely? I think Gardiners even supply disposable gloves too.

Black hands come from non sprung clamps, basically clamps which do not open up when clamp catch is released. The is the reason a number of older Facelift poles (6-7 years old) are still going as this feature was built in. You won't find any other pole range with this as standard. Phoenix range has this built in so wear is to a minimum.

I may be wrong, but I think the problem with the Brodex pole is the black anodizing wearing off the aluminium.

mr G if you have a fair bit of high work with your pole fully extended then the SLX 25 or 30 would be the better option if your finances will stretch.the clx 27 bends like a banana at full stretch even with a light brush.

full carbon poles are the way to go if you take your business seriously.they are FAR BETTER than any hybrid pole.

I'll bear that in mind Dazmond, as I often use it horizontal over conservatory roofs etc
