Everybody  apears to have this service on their vans these days.

What would be the basic equipment you need

Does anyone use an Electric Do you all take your own water supply etc.

How do you learn about it is there any training course.

What is the charging stucture.

With respect because I know you have a carpet cleaning business - if I asked those questions relating to carpet cleaning I would possibly be laughed off the forum.

If I employed a pressure washer (I wouldn't because I am one) and they turned up and said where's the plug socket I would tell them to p*ss off - that is the equivalent of a Rug Doctor!

There is no training for pressure washing - if you want it get a CSCS card (about forty quid) and I will give you free days on my works

The market is as diverse as carpet cleaning and the pricing structures reflect that - I would put it on a par with carpet cleaning, with a lot more mess.

I can use up to 10 000 litres per day, on my own so it is impractical to take your own water, some working local may take their first tank and then use the clients water supply.

Is there a downturn in carpet cleaning as the CC's stampede down here for all of the tricks and is pressure washing seen as an easy clip on, to assist struggling businesses because as you say 'everyone seems to have it on their vans these days'.

You need to give a little more than your post to be taken seriously, in exactly the same way that I have seen on the carpet cleaning section - that is why you have had roley eyes and smiles.

I am glad I am not in domestic pressure washing!!

It seems as though carpet cleaning is getting quiet? ... and window cleaning seems to be getting saturated? so people are trying to diversify into other cleaning services..?

My opinion is that I think it's best to focus on one thing and do it well.

I have just come up with an absolute blinder of a business - completely unique - this is serious. I am just buying every domain name I can for it and it will be launched next week.

It will not be linked to my current business in any way and I believe it could be enormous!!

Just had to turn an £10K job away as we are so busy, bugger, some middle eastern royal family their not happy but get over it. They'll come back next year.
Start Wimbledon this week couple of hundred sq mts of Ipe ready in time for the tennis, has to be top spec as the deck is worth around 8 million to my client (corporate) in revenue.
So yeah easy money no pressure.

Come on everyone - window cleaners, toilet cleaners, carpet cleaners, goldfish bowl cleaners let's all clip on decking - Look at the money in it. Slap a bit of sealer, bit of stripping off with a cheap pressure washer, splash & dash.

Used it results are good/great, biggest tests are yet to come, decking over Koi pond (deck overhangs by silly proportions) that needs stripping back to bare wood, and a few roof-top decks in the city with no real water access.

Well what prompted the question was one of the advertisers was featuring an Electric Pressure  Washer.

Also although I have been out of action for a Couple of Years so may have missed something , nobody appears to be offering training, which gives the impression to me that anyone could start up and ruin a driveway etc


But I am glad to see that you have taken the initiative and are considering organizing some training I wish you well.

I do believe that diversity is way of surviving around here many Window Cleaners are offering pressure washing.

Its not a service I plan to offer as I am gradually withdrawing from the industry but was just curious , hence my complete lack of thought.

I am sure your offer was genuine , and looking at the posts it looks to me that with the right knowlege there is Big Money to be made fot these young Turks( If i am allowed to say that) , but As I am withdrawing gradually from industry my time is better spent elsewhere

I watched what was done with Derek & the TACCA day and was impressed.

We have experts all over this forum that could easily make a much bigger annual day to cover more services, it would give everyone a flavour of other services and cement some useful working relationships.
