put up my prices last month and was unsure how the public would react........booked almost every job since and really busy at the moment.. in fact people are actively telling me they thought that the lower price CC were too cheap..so here is the lesson...DONT GO CHEAP... people just dont like it

Cheap is not good!
Did two jobs last week and both women complained to me about "the rubbish job" they got when they booked their last carpet clean through Groupon...

Don't know if it's correct.......but I heard if you rapidly hit the hatch key repeatedly you can prevent further calls from that particular caller.

Not everyone who are cheap do a bad job i'm reasonable and cheap compared to a lot of you guy's but I turn up and do the best job I can look at the pics on my website that was cat faeces every were it was for a friends relative who had lost his way I charged £35 as a friend would of charged more or even walked away but they needed my help my point is I can do a great job at decent enough prices if I take 1 hour and make £35 that is good money to me if it takes me 2 hrs it's still good money to me i'd be happy with £200 a day and with the gear I have should be able to do this but just cant get the work if I was crap at my job then it's understandable but iv'e not had a complaint yet I want to offer a good service at a reasonable cost were i'm happy because i'm working everyday but can't for the life of me get the phone to ring. : :'(

It dosnt really matter if your good or bad its all down to marketing.
when  i was just doing marketing we were busy as there was 2 of us when we went out together we weren't.

as stated you have decent equipment but no work you need a marketer . as your a carpet cleaner .

Have you made any visits to local businesses?
Last I saw you were re-designing your website but didnt look to see if you had been getting out to people yet.

Honestly mate its not that bad once you start doing it and keep doing it.
I had two ladies walk in here, cold, yesterday. Safety in numbers but they were all over the place speaking to Tracey with nerves.
Luckily for them I actually have a need for what they were selling (printing) they left with a full page of items for quoting heads up laughing and joking.
I bet they felt great walking into the next call. Just do it and keep doing it.
The more you speak to people the better you will get.
We have guys come in here month after month. They always get a NO and they leave with a smile. Chances are when we need something quickly we will remember them. Basically all you want to do is let them put a face to the flyer, card etc so its from a person not a faceless organisation.

Thats all you need to do!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell them who you are,
what you do,
do you use this kind of service?
No, okay perhaps you can keep me on file in case you do in the future.
Thanks, bye.

They might just say.

Oooooo my kid trailed dog poop in from the garden all over my cream lounge carpet. What should I do to get rid of it?
BOOM off you go with the right advice. Maybe a survey/quote when they finish.

Remember people do business with people not websites.

Getting out there is better than sitting at home waiting on the phone to ring.
