I had the GrippaMax boys in town today.
They drove round from Peterborough and Cambridge to fit my 650 litre van-mount system. They were here for 9.15 in the morning, which was pretty good I thought considering their journey had taken in the m25 during Monday morning rush-hour; especially as they'd reckoned they'd be here for 9 .00 a.m.
So a good start.
After all the preliminaries, checking the van body-work, signatures, coffee etc they got to work. There were three of them. Oliver, the boss; Ross the boss and Dave the auto-electrician
Obviously they had worked together before as a team as all knew just about what all the others were doing and everything seemed to go pretty smoothly.
It took about an hour before Dave had pulled apart the front cab in the new Transit Custom, dispatched the drivers seat and revealed the batteries underneath for him to start to get his wiring for the split charge relay into gear. Meanwhile, Ross and Oliver had pretty much got the main tank fitted and fixed into place.
They then moved on to plumbing the two-man system in. The kit is a two-man setup, so twin RedAshe Reels, with 100 metres of 6mm micro-bore, twin pumps, with inline D.I. meter. The two reels are fitted to the floor of the van with an option to allow for two external reels to be fitted used with a set of external ports to the rear of the van.
All seemed to go very smoothly. I was impressed with their readiness to explain the system, any particular intricacies which weren't particularly obvious such as the split charge relay and internal plumbing.
So all in all a good job in my opinion. Very pleased actually. Took the system out for a little spin after the guys left and was very pleased with it all. Its very different to the old system I had fitted which was a 350 litre van-mount by PureFreedom.
Good job.
Before they'd started.
Getting going.
