about six months ago i bought the same age nissan primastar, 73,000, just had £2300 spent at nissan and came with reciepts, almost new condition, from nissan i knocked them down from £5000 to £4000 because i paid in cash !
but just offer him £4000
and ask what condition the van was like without signage

Sounds like a bargain !! If it was my van I would strip all the ply out the back, insulate, as keep the back free so you still have alot of room for everything :)
For example my van : tank behind the bulk head , then shelves either side of the back , then a pole rack running along the top... And I still have just under 1meter width, by 1.5m length
