i,m relocating and have considered starting a chimmney sweeping buissness can any one give me advice on what i need and how to get started

We have someone around this area and he seems really busy so i think you would get the customers its just finding out about equipment

We have four that cover our area ,they charge from £10.50  - £15 if you book a week ahead, we had a new fire put in and had to have one the next day he charged us £30 ,  he was only here for about 15 mins, he used a sheet with a hole in for his brush , and then finished off with a vacum, :-/ told my kids that it was so Father Xmas did not get his clothes dirty

There are special high filtration vacuum cleaners that you can get. We supply one from Numatic details as follows:

The machine itself is an adaptation of a standard hazardous dust machine and undergoes several changes before leaving the manufacturer. A cradle fitted to the head of the machine not only makes carrying the machine easier but also provides a location for winding the power cable when not in use. Grab handles are also fitted to the drum assembly and a tough wooden base is also standard. This machine can be used in most applications where dry hazardous material is to be picked up and is fitted with a hazardous filter module"

I cant see that you'd need much else other than a set of rods (from somewhere like B&Q) and some dust sheets!?

I dont recall ever having anything to do with a chimney sweep - either theres not many doing it because there isnt the market or there are a handful of chimney sweeps that are happy keeping it quiet
