Steep learning curve. My 1st proper pressure washing job.
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:01:37 am »
Done my first proper paying pressure washing job yesterday.  :)

Local pub - 16 sq/m of concrete covered in moss, perimeter algae covered concrete path, set of metal steps covered in algae and some mossy areas here and there under windows. Took 3 hours.

Lessons learned

1. Dont flood pressure washer and over choke it and petrol peeing out from carb over cold exhaust  >:(
2. Buy a floor squeegee as moss turns into thick thick mud making it hard to progress.
3. Buy a bucket and shovel and brush to clear thick mud and dump.
4. When blasting moss you also get loads of soil as moss has destroyed tarmac and you just keep blasting more mud into the thick mess you got already. (Simon @ Pristine told me this when I spent day with him and bought his old pressure washer but good to experiance for myself)
5. If doing anymore like this buy a faceguard as my mug spattered with mud and crap.

oh and my leg muscles ache today ...... no idea why ?

Did i enjoy it - yes
Was it worth it - yes £120 for 3 hours .... prob underpriced but took longer than it should due to my inexperiance

Plus picked up a small patio job of one of the barmaids and she is going to get me the neighbour as well.  :)

All in all feeling positive about it at the moment .............. oh and got a call from a leaflet drop to go and price a £2million house near me for pressure washing and window cleaning.

Of course, what else would you call it?  Pressure cleaning?  Washing?  Scrubbing?  Whatever you call it, it's firing water at high speed at a deck/floor.

Anyway, all I want to know is what to pain on it afterwards to make t look nice?

Well, I was trying to make a point, but anyway, you have to have a minimum, don't you?  I asked this question on the carpet clearing's forum and they agreed about having a minimum they would quote.
