Mark everyone differs on price and speed of work I used to do a large venue over 500M2 and on my own using my dry fusion system took 4-5 hours and charged only £300 that works out 60p per m2 but didn't base price on m2 I based on my time to do it and 4-5 hours for £300 that will do me nicely I would do a full 8 hrs for £300 I think that's good money so basically it's all down to your preference and how much you want to earn.

Our carpet cleaning is £2.00 per sq. metre, including labour & solutions. We also do a FREE carpet edge tidy up, tuck down & neaten up edges, re-tuck under/around radiators etc. We only use HWE as recommended by carpet manufacturer's.

There is no 'going rate' people keep asking for. It varies widely.

It's in the interest  of companies who sell machines to claim massive amounts of carpet that can be cleaned in a short time it's part of the sales pitch.

Just check out this website they claim 5000sqft in 30 mins,

http://bonnetpro.com/

It like Ford claiming 75mpg for  thier cars, it might be 75 on the motorway but around town it drops to 40mpg

Just like 5000sqft might be possible on clean carpets but on a dirty carpet it drops to 2000sqft.

No one mentions the worse case scenario where it clean 200t in an hour.

'Hot Water Extraction - This system is suitable for use on Brintons Carpets

This is generally considered the most effective method for overall cleaning of carpets.'  :D
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
