I see FB are running an 'offer' to promote your business.
For £10 PER DAY they'll estimate you will get between 11-100 likes for your business.
Seems like quite an expensive way to try and gain new customers @ £300 per month !

Cant really see how it would work. I often see stuff on my wall asking to 'like' it and find it annoying.
Would you really want to like 'Billy the Builder' from Newcastle when you've never heard of him or is it just me     

ps...you can go for £20 per day and get up to 150 likes (estimate)

I've never managed to make Facebook adverts work, although I've never been able to throw much money into them over extended periods (more than a £100 or so over a few days)

I had 30 or so people like my post to sign up for a free stain removal once. When I messaged them to arrange a date and take there addresses not a single person replied. Actually 2 replied saying they had clicked by accident. Facebook charged me over £20 for those 30 people.

It seems to work for some people though - mainly the big and established businesses who people feel are extensions of themselfs and there own egos ie 'Adidas' 'McDonalds' 'Lynx'

Your posts are often displayed to people who have liked you.

Over time you can build trust and a feeling of 'friendship' with those people.

When you make a post on your page that people have 'liked' it will show on their wall. More likes mean more people get the post.

So if you can think of a way of getting local people to like your page you have instant access to their wall and to advertise to them. Obviously don't do it a lot or people will unlike.

They will only forget you if you dont update and post to your page on a regular basis. One day they may need their carpet cleaning and when the time comes they'll more than likely contact you.
I've recently just did a drive to get more likes on my page and sent out over 200 invites to my FB friends and about 40 'liked' it...but more importantly I got 2 jobs out of it
