Looks like a Truvox, great idea if you do a lot of decks or could do potentially

We do, do loads of decking Terry, and that was my thoughts, looks good, but does it work?

I have a lot of decking at home & was thinking of using my truvox multiwash which is the same as the Osmo, will have to give it a try.
Has anyone used their cleaning product Osmo Wood Reviver 'Power Gel'
is it any good,

Also is their decking oil any good, if so which one?

You sparked my interest so I rang Osmo and spoke to a salesman. The machine costs around £2000 (don't know how that compares to a Truvox similiarly equipped) but they rent it out at around £200 per day. If you just want to clean the deck you use a product called wash care, if it is very grey and tired looking you use wood reviver gel. According to the salesman (!) the results are genuinely impressive (in fairness the guy I spoke to was the least push salesperson ever). If doing the latter process you would of course be re coating the deck in an Osmo product.
I asked if they had any trining courses lined up but unfortunately they don't at the moment.

I think it comes down to how many decks do you get and would those people pay a decent rate to ame it worthwhile after machine cost and chemical and coating cost, my gut feeling is that the results will be everything they say they are and no I don't have any link at all to osmo LOL

Hello Terry,

I also spoke to Osmo yesterday a couple of times, was actually offered a machine at a better rate then that  :) plus I needed to know a few technical details of the machine, and yes no big says push and very helpful, in fact all the details I wanted have been emailed over today.
I most probably wouldn't use their products as I have my own tried and tested products that we use.

Do we do enough decking to make it worth my while? I'll just say yes because if I say anything else it would look like boasting, my web-site will give you an idea to our work.
Would/do people pay for a good decking service, yes bit like you guys that do internal floors, people will pay for quality workmanship.

Roger,
Looks like you're into it in a big way so probably bit of a no brainer, I think its a great idea, and I wish you the very best of luck with it. I don't use Osmo but of course as a sanding company I know of them, I don't think they would sell anything that would damage their hard earned reputation.

Pleas let us know how you get on if you decide to invest.

I am giving it a lot of thought, as it should/could make life easier with some of the rooftop decking we do, less kit to go up either lifts or stairs etc. Should also be less mess as well.
Just got to make a decision really.

The machine is made in India by the manufacturers of the multi wash with a slight difference with the water feed. I have used my multi wash on my decking the last few years and it works well. I usually use some sodium per carbonate applied by watering can, scrub with the machine then hose it off.

Are the boards on your deck flat or ridged/grooved ?

Grooved. I run my multiwash 340 with blue brushes on it.

Wow! Osmo hire out the Wood Orbiter for £200 per day? That's a lot!

We do the Multiwash or the Rotowash M45B for £47.06 + vat & delivery per day, or £94.12 per week.

The Rotowash is slighlty larger than the multiwash (45cm wide rather than 30cm) and heavier so would probably produce the better reult out of the 2!

Do you have a spec sheet you could email me of those machines?

Len means contra rotating brush,
there is a multiwash on ebay with missing lids, starting at £4.99
could be a bargain for someone

It is listed as a multywash (spelling mistake)
will see if i can find it again and post link.
They are good for this job, just done mine

Cheers Andrew,
Just had a look, would want it to hit the ground running, but could work for someone.
I meant to answer your question re oils used and cleaning products earlier sorry.

Have you oiled your deck yet or are you going to?
