unloader valve
« on: April 07, 2013, 07:40:48 pm »
my unloader valve is the one with the 17mm nut attached,    can you turn them too much to make it come out,it dosent seem to stop when turning it up. so I haven't turned too far,       I have a pressure gauge fitted.   am I best turning it lower,     then can I adjust it whenpressure washer is on   with lance on so I can see the pressure output on dial.      or should I not use it.     its the same unloader valve as on   quashers   youtube Honda 390 video the gold one with the 17mm nut to adjust.

K5 unloader, theyre one of the best mate, no trapped pressure so doesn't cause your engine and shaft as much stress when your on and off the trigger, or if you have a leak it wouldn't keep revving up and down when it's hunting for water. just turn the nut when it's on full throttle untill you bypass stops letting water out (or just a tiny trickle)  then never touch it again as it's set, instead use your throttle to adjust flow/power as it's save on fuel aswell

Aslong as theres no water coming out your bypass hose and your engine doesnt start to drop revs then youve got the right setting (also make sure you have the right size nozzle in)

loncin   interpump uh 2016,  bleed valve fitted,   pressure gauge fitted.  rtt bypass,   16 lpm,   3600 psi.    bought from jetmac.   this is new,     Kenny don't you just turn the nut clockwise  or anticlockwise to adjust the pressure you need then tighten lower nut,  surely this cant cause any harm.    how far do you turn before the nut comes out. is it a case of turning and checking pressure gauge to see what pressure reading is showing.  Terry just says turn nut clock or anti clock for your required pressure.
thanks for replying Kenny.    do you ever get whirlaways  reconditioned.

what is the best way to turn your unloader valve to get required pressure needed.   do you just turm machine on, while idling turn the nut , tighten and check pressure gauge  when lance is on ,   then leave or turn again to get required pressure.     :-\     its all a learning curve.     then in future just turn revs down

still hasn't sunk in yet,    then what. ??? ???  I don't want to look a right numpty .
so  turn machine on,   press lance trigger on, turn nut ,   tighten bottom nut,  wait till water flow stops from rtt hose,   then what.

then how do I check pressure from 0-3600psi,    do I just release trigger   then pull trigger back in again then check pressure gauge.     it it best to have my pressure high  always,. and just use a different nozzle for lower pressure.     this is my only problem now to get sorted.

leave it alone - don't touch it again unless to check the leak off (down the return whilst washing)

As bdcs says, leave it alone, once it's set on full throttle, don't touch it again, instead use your throttle control on the engine to increase/reduce power

right Kenny,  so sorry to be a pain in the head but ive re read your first post slowly.
1. turn washer on,
2 set throttle on full revs
3 loosen bottom nut,    turn top nut     clockwise or anticlockwise.
4  check outer bypass hose , when waterflow stops or a trickle tighten bottom nut
you mentioned nozzle  ?

is that it done   do I just turn on lance to get going again  making sure water is coming back out of the RTT hose  :-*

You need to set the unloader 100 psi over the pressure where the water stops flowing throught the return when washing or you will run the seat if the spring softens off and you never check the return - not that i want to confuse the issue further  ;D
