The renewal for my Ranger is up soon and I've been quoted £455, up £15 form last year with Adrian Flux. I will try A-Plan as it comes highly recommended from this forum. Ran the details through Van Compare today and had a figure of £363 which was nice. Biggest surprise though was a chat with the underwriters and the revelation that an unsecured 400 litre tank in a pick-up isn't considered an issue and just classed as cargo - eg it's no different to a wheel barrow or bags of sand. Last year I argued this point and made no progress whatsoever - this year it looks like sanity may be prevailing !

Whether it's 400 kilos of water, or 400 kilos of bricks the result will be the same.  Point is - how many people would try to secure a stack of bricks?

In order to get to the cab it would have to pass through TWO separate steel bulkheads. Last year it was issue with the underwriters but his year apparently not - perhaps pick up installations are on the increase and the insurance companies have gained some new info ?
