Iv'e not used a backpack before but there are a few jobs on my round where I think one would come in handy, any recommendations?
Also wondering how you fill them up after each use? And which sort of battery they normally run on.

I've got a Gardiners backpack which works fine, the battery is incorporated into the unit and they provide you with a charger. I think it's 19ltrs.
The Window Cleaning Warehouse also sell backpacks that are worth looking at, just check out their website. The Gardiner one is about £138 inc vat.

You can refill by carrying some 25ltr containers in the van.

essentially all the same its how you look after them once you have one, vascaline the battery terminals and crocodile clips on the end of the wires help, the most reliable one i have is the gardiners one on a sack barrow

Having never had a backpack before I can't rate it against others

However well built variable flow switch battery pump etc. all cased in led batttery charge indicatior and comes with a charger

Not a fan of the straps however use the lid to carry

Plenty hose and comes with connector of choice ..

Plenty umph to use at multi storey

Can't complain it does me

I also have the gardiners one,just for awkward jobs.Dont use the straps on back just use the handle. very good.

I wouldn't get one full stop imo a trolly or van setup is the only way to go

you are right mate a van mount is the way, however he wants something for the odd window, i think he has a van mount, for the odd window etc a backpack is the best way to go, at a few hundred pounds cheaper than a trolley, then you can add a trolley and a larger contanier if you want :-)

Wayne dont mate, it will take its toll on your back, get a trolley.

I've got a trolley Steve, main reason I want a backpack is for houses with no side gate, and have to run hose through their house.
It's a right pain, especially if it's been raining and you end up with wet and muddy hose all over their floor.
Thought with the backpack I can just walk the pole through their house, no mess, no hose tangling on their furniture etc
