Just wondering about the above topic. When I phoned gardiner and ordered an super lite brush head they asked what jets I wanted. Didn't realise there were two types but having ordered the fan jets and used them yesterday I must say I'm pretty impressed and may even prefer them to pencil jets. The girl at gardiner did say that when most go onto fan jets they rarely go back to pencil jets.

jst make sure you go across the top of the glass you rince on the glass use loads less wwater

i went from pencil to fan jets!

soon went back to pencil ones, took more time and more water using fan jets i found.
fans are not as powerful as jets, and in windy weather, well wind just blows the water away as its a fine mist

Always end up going back to pencils - I like the way they curtain the water on the glass.

Oh great! Can I have some pencil jets please Alex? Ha ha. I thought the girl when i bought the pole said most never go back to pencil jets. Maybe she said most don't go back to fan jets. Ah well. I will persist for now and replace if they aren't as good. As your around on the forum Alex may I just say I am really pleased with the extreme 62 I bought the other day. Excellent product and great services. Best pole I have ever owned. May have to sell the rest of my collection and come back for a few lower level poles.

Pencils are ok if rinse off good but if the water beads on windows pencils are a night mare, and pencil jets use a lot more water than fans,

Pencil jets only use more water if you don't control the flow. I got 2mm pencil jets on my brushes and have cleaned 5 terrace houses (7 windows and 2 doors on each) with less than 25lts of water with my portable system

i think fans use loads less water and are much quicker

our preference is fan jets - they beat pencil jets hands down for us - better clean - quicker rinse less water used.  but unlike pencil jets which are basically a bit of brass tube you need to use the right fan jets
otherwise you get crappy results, and gardiners are not the best, good but the best is the blue Lumark
fans - you get a wide/strong spray at low pressure ( from as little as 45 on the digital controller )

but at the end of the day some people cant get on with them so it's best to use equipment that suits your
style of cleaning

What  brush do you use vin is it the medium sill brush
