How great are the extreme poles
« on: March 30, 2013, 07:41:11 am »
Used my new extreme 62ft pole for first time yesterday and cannot find a single fault. Every other pole I've had I always dislike something about it. But I used it at full reach, at low heights without extensions, and it made me enjoy window cleaning again. Was quite gutted when it got dark and I had to put my new toy away!! :) looks like I'm going to have to replace all my other smaller poles for gardiner. Expensive job but well worth it. Kudos mr gardiner. Customer service when buying pole right up to time for delivery was excellent. You'll be hard pushed to find any pole manufacturers with the whole package but I think gardiner so far have it spot on.

i can imagine the extreme coming into its own at 60ft or even 40ft but for regular domestics i use my SLX 22 or 25 and my 40ft SUPERMAX for anything higher.

im very happy with my current poles and cant see me buying an extreme any time soon due to not having much work over 30 ft.

for me the SLX 22 and 25 foot poles are perfect for domestic and medium commercial jobs.nice and light and rigid.

the only time i would buy an extreme would be if i had lots of work over 30ft.
price higher/work harder!

How do find clamps a little bit dubious as this is my first Gardiners pole but it was a bargain price for a 40ft pole with carbon gooseneck and brush .

Also bought the quick loc resi neck for other brushes which I will adapt for quick loc .

Also Jimi how long have u had yours and how much do you use it. Mike

I love the half way clamping. Never used a gardiner before so was unsure. But after using it for first time I really like them. Was even more unsure about the light weight brush head. I got the wide one with fan jets. Quality brush and it was the first time I've ever used fan jets but have to admit I prefer them now to pencil jets.

I'd disagree, I have used bad poles, good poles and now the best the xtreme pole. The xtreme pole gives an increase in speed over the SLX even at 18ft, in fact it's nice to use a pole and not have any aches and pains at all.  It's not a small increase in speed either, you'd easily get an extra house in at the end of the day.

I'd say it's comparable to saying there is no need to wfpolling the ground floor windows, you might as well just trad them, most wfp cleaners would disagree, most xtreme users would agree with me and say that even under 30ft the pole is worth it.

I agree with Simon.  Buy the best poles you can.  Save you time and strain and in the long run, money

Fully agree with sheerwood. First time I've been out and come back pain free with my back. Awesome pole. There is no other pole on market where you can use it on windows at 47ft and bottom floor windows. It knocked a good 30 mins off a massive hotel I did yesterday where I normally have to switch between my 50ft and 24ft. great pole, no complaints at all.

Not long had the extreme 25 with 35 and 44 extensions. Fantastic pole. Trying the best and quickest way to use the extensions. The 25 would be used most of the time but as i use a tap with a loop would mean taking tap off and adding more pole hose, which takes time. So thinking of a aquadapter so just can thread pole hose through extentions with no protectaball so can be taken off and added pretty quickly. Hope that makes sense, anyway as i say fantastic pole

Your set-up is  a very good option and one that I highly recommend.

The quickest way to use the extensions with hose?

When using with the extensions I would recommend investing in a second longer hose pack (pole hose, tap and connector). Due to the quick-release top gooseneck you could disconnect the shorter hose pack fit the extensions and connect the new longer hose pack all in under a minute.

Perhaps it would be useful to have these various sized hose packs available to buy separately and a video showing how to switch between them.

If you use a push fit valve you can disconnect at the valve and add an extension from the bottom quite easily too.
I did this yesterday when my pole needed one more section and I couldn't be bothered to collapse it down again.

You could easily add hose to the bottom too if required (provided you have a safe corner to prop your extended pole into).

Hi dave yes i use the push fit tap, but like it fixed t the bottom of pole. so would need to add more pole hose then reattache tap. Just thought with aquadapter i just need to thread hose through extension. Imight be over thinking this though. ::)roll

Aquadapter gets rid of the loop of hose you always get from valve to pole (at a price). What puts me off one is the cost, the added weight, no option to vary the flow and the terrible hose required to use it with.

yeah not cheap. I suppose another option is to put tap at the brush end. But of course you cant turn off until pole is lowered. Havent used the extensions yet just thinking of the best and quickest way to add them when required. Think ill have a few beers and sleep on it.  ;D

Spot on Simon, I use the Extreme 18',it is a fantastic pole and for me it is worth every penny as I have impingement in my shoulder and this pole has helped to keep the discomfort to a minimum.
