What is the rules and criteria for a clean window at the competition.
For those who dont know the rules how can you practice beforehand

All three 48 inches square (I think), mop and squeegie and wipe round and also the sill at the bottom and all 3 all in under 10 seconds.

With time added for anything not done right.

He did post it on this forum last year but I don't have a clue how to search for it.

I'm certain his screen name was 'Turbo Terry'.

Watching Terry in action is quite an eye opener though, until you watch him live it is hard to appreciate just how fast he is.
It is fun watching others have a go too

Turbo Terry is also a black-belt in Karate so I understand and practices his technique as if it is a 'Kata'; a set matial arts movement.  I think I remember one of his posts saying even his footwork is practiced!

No doubt, given his martial arts training, he's got natrually quick reflexes too; good fine-motor control; combined with the discipline to practice repeatedly.

He'll no doubt hold the record for a few years yet!

  well good evening everyone some info for you! The world Record
to clean 3 windows that measure 45 inches by 45,you use just a 12 inch
squeegee!14 inch T bar, Guinness World Record Tme 9.24 seconds,and I forgot
to say after you cleaned the windows,you must wipe the window sill off :
now if you leave loads of water marks on the glass,each mark! counts a half second penalty point,to add on you time you finish cleaning the glass
for example.I cleaned and wiped the sill in just 8.24 seconds,I got 2 penaltys
for water marks,its almost Impossible to get a clear round going so fast,you have to clean each window around 2.40 seconds and move at the same time
its like rubbing your head,and your belly at the same time,my arms and body legs,are all doing opposite things at the same time,this has taken years of solid practice,just 5 mins on the glass and I am off back in the routine,my Karate has help me no end,its this I truly believe has been the making of progress to where I am right now

I forgot to Add,I can say I am the fastest with a 12 inch Rubber :

I reckon the contest should be updated:

The 3 windows should be bigger with lovely almost flush rubber seals with some sort of coloured dusting on the glass to simulate dirt. Maybe the use of an A step to reach them too.

Also, a more vigilant judge would be better than that Norris McWirter bloke. I suggest my old foreman, Stan "you can't rag that son" Thompson

How about sticking in a few crappy frames with peeling paint, missing putty and a few blobs of paint or varnish on the glass.

I think the 'fastest window cleaner' competition should be done with wfp. With marks added on for the best reason explaining a) why wfp is being used b) that the frames get cleaned at the same time and c) how the 12 hour drying time doesn't matter. 

Seriously thought, a few weeks back someone shouted across the street that I wasn't as fast as 'that bloke on TV'.

In actual fact I was thinking of challenging Terry's record but I don't want to show him up.  :

It takes me that long to think about it.

If I remember rightly, he starts with the mop and blade together and moves both arms as one. I can do it, seriously I can, but it's only good on spotless glass. As trade tip to Terry: If the glass is clean and no one is looking, just run the mop along the sill and leave a few spots of water on nearby desks etc.

I do that sort of thing with little panes on dusty doors.
Just wipe the bottom edge clean.

if Iwas doing routine work where the windows were dirty,I still would wet up with the left hand and take off with the right,most wc wet up and squeegee off with the same hand why by using 2 hands it cuts your time wc down greatly to all those who come to Excel I would gladly show you this method,and how and why it works

How do you do that thing when you do the full circle.

I had a go and my arms & wrists just dont seem to want to move that way.

are yes this trick is great I do circles without taking my hand off the glass at any one time,TV love this its very visual,I play with the soap on the glass and move the circle up and down and all over the place,it looks like I can turn my hands full circle,its my favorite and it baffles everyone
