vivaro cam belt cost?
« on: March 21, 2013, 07:26:46 pm »
hi

i need a new cam belt fitted to my 06 vivaro (just for mileage reasons it's not snapped or anything). the main dealer has quoted £404 for the cambelt and £668.21 for the cambelt and water pump (parts and labour). now i can get a cam belt kit and water pump on ebay for £100, so this seems a really steep price, unless there's loads of labour that i was unaware of. has anyone had to replace a cambelt on a vivaro that could give me an idea of what they paid?

(i'm asking on here becuase i'm guessing quite a few will have a vivaro)

thanks in advance

I think, but not 100%, that 2007 onwards have cam chain. I stand to be corrected though.

Its 2007 that's got a chain,

Our partner company has a 07 Vivaro and that has 100% got a timing chain as I took it into the garage at 100k miles to get the "belt" changed and it didn't need one.

Only the 2.0 cdti model has a chain I think Dean. A 2008 1.9d will still have a belt I believe.
