hi guys, just wondered if anyone cleans solar panels using a tower scaffold rather than a 45-50ft pole, is it worth the hassle of erecting it or could you charge a premium for providing the scaffold...

Depends if it is residential or commercial. Residential, no chance!  The cost to benefit ratio is not there.

Commercial, maybe, depending on the site. Even then, we use cherry pickers. It's quicker, easier and the client has less noise and disruption on their premises.

If you buy a big pole, you will easily recoup your money.

even if its for free (we have our own) it would still take longer to load up, set up, set down and return to base than the a big pole or cherry picker.

yer i agree it would take a lot longer, well depends what scaffolding you use,
scaffolding that i have only takes 5-10 minutes to put up to access roof hight, all legs fully adjustable and on locking wheels.
there are some that you cant get access with a pole or ladder,
cherry pickers can be expencive if you are not trained yourself on the use of them, some places want £200 for hire of one and a man.
