Ive been asked to quote to clean 70 chairs in a workingmens club.

Bog standard chair that you find in these places,bases and full length backs,no arms and all synthetic.

Any ideas how long it would take to do 70 of these HWE.Ive never done a job like this before.

I did something very similar before Xmas.
75 school chairs, base and backs...quoted £2 per chair=£150 and got the job.
Took me just over 3 hours.

Workingmens club however...they could be minging, you might be there all day !!!

This is the most boring, soul destroying type of work in our industry, so i charge a premium compared to carpet cleaning. I'd charge between £150-£200.

Wayne, i charge a fiver a chair and you should allow 3 to 5 mins each chair dependant on soilage and if your doing it yourself or 2 of you.
70 chairs at 3 mins per chair will take you around 3.5 hours.

This would take me about a day but that's very mucky restaurant chairs in a hotel, same as Paul £5 - £6. It's back breaking but i'm there a lot dealing with customer spills & room cleans so I always ask if there are 20 or 30 to do and make a reasonable day of it.

I've just cleaned 75 chairs like the ones you describe, took me three and a half hours. I charged £150.

Cleaned 92 white faux leather chairs and dabbed beadings with artist emulsion white material paint on worn corners looked great and but did take 4 hrs with 2 of us @ £6.80 each chair

It took 2 of us twin-tooling about 3 - 4 hrs to do 100 folding chairs in a village hall. We re- riveted some bits on to about a dozen of them, and charged about £580.

I had similar recently - 150 chairs.

I'd no idea what to charge, so I asked what the previous (retired) cleaner charged. 
He said £2.50 +VAT, I said £3 no VAT.  It's a full days work.

I got the job, plus 300sqm of Wilton carpet (another days work).

Why the rush,

Set up, take your lunch along, a few cups of tea & take your time, allow for the day but should take no more than half a day but if it does so what.

Probably (I didn't)... anyway, next year, if I have to get VAT registered, it'll (still) be £3, PLUS VAT.

With lots of chairs one of the biggest problems is the sheer logistics or mving the chairs in and out of position for cleaning. This can add considerably to the time involved.

Also consider whether the chairs need to be dry by a certain time. You may need to consider using your drying equipment. This may also give you "leverage" on price negotiation to your advantage.
