Did you cut down the outer rows steve or just the inner?

ive just cut down the inner at the moment to see how i get on.

i do have a black extreme, which i think would benifit more if i cut all the bristles down, like what you have done, as its a little softer than the mono fillament extreme

I have a couple of Xtremes that have gone a bit curly wurly that I don't use anymore. Maybe I'll straighten them out and get snipping. How much do you take off - about 1cm?

I wish Alex would have them manufactured but the demand would have to be there. This is one of those cases where you have to do it & use one to appreciate the difference it makes.

If you have a Xtreme medium mixed DT, then just trim the outer white rows down so that they are "just" longer than the inner black rows. It's probably about 10/12mm I would think yes.

When you look at the bristle profile of the tips along it's length, a flat or concave profile is MUCH more effective in my experience than a convex one- This picture will show what that means, the black profile is concave while the standard white is convex.

I have worked with ♠Winp®oClean♠ modified Xtremes and they work well. However I still prefer them slightly longer.

I am in the middle of finishing off the details of a new Xtreme brush and it is possible, if there is enough interest, that I may try a shorter bristled version.
