Turbo nozzle on block drive
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:04:48 pm »
Is it ok to use a turbo nozzle on a block driveway ? And can a car go on it between washing and resanding ?

No it's not suitable.,  If you "have to"  be careful that you dont undermine the base layer that supports the block else it will all move.  You are aiming to remove about a 10mm of the kiln dried from between the block and not the coarse underneath. The car will be ok but sanding should take place sooner rather than later. My number is 7973216502 if you need more info.

Do you have a flat surface cleaner? If not consider buying one it will pay for itself very quickly.
Regarding the nozzle use the turbo it will be quicker and the results will be better...just go easy it's not idea.
A day or so at this time of year. Try a little test area first before you empty a whole bag on the drive. You need to use kiln dry sand...if it gets damp it "balls" up making it impossible to  work with.

Iv a flat surface cleaner there ( norhstar 18 inch ) , only used it a couple of times cause it didnt seem very  good but thats probabley because i was only using a 2600 psi machine ? Gona have to rent a bigger machine for this job , Il try it and the turbo and see how it goes .

You will struggle with a fan nozzle when it comes to weeds like in the clips below. Don't worry about using a turbo.

Turbo on BP every time.

Just use a bit of common sense and don't go in too close.

get them turbos fitted to your FSC but make sure everyone in a 200m radius is wearing a hard hat and full body protection  ;D

It would seem that the concensus of opinion is that a turbo nozzle "is" suitable on block paving  ::)roll.

Your machine will be fine..take your time . Remember to wash all the windows and plants down. Get the water off the windows with an old windscreen wiper so it dont leave spots. Clean up the mess you leave in the street .Knock on next doors apologise for the noise and give them your card.
