Just finishing a 20 page Risk Assessment.

You get that Aquilla Hotbox out that should have been mine and knock the hell out of it ;D ;D ;D

Rob ;D

Too many RAMS these days Rob.

We did an emergency bridge clean on Sunday morning in Balham - London - it took me longer to write the bloody RAMS than it took the lads to do the job - and they had to travel 1 hr each way to get there from our yard in CRAWLEY, WEST SUSSEX

If it is a  wax based sacrificial ,steam with a little pressure will remove it . If it is a permanent coating you will need a solvent. If it is a  fluoropolymer you will damage the building in the attempt to remove it with the metheod you have suggested.
Gather as much information about the coating, ring the manufacture, start with gentlest method  first.

Chris - my customer probably applied the coating - so I should be able to find out when I speak with them tomorrow, Thanks for the info - most appreciated.

As usual they just sent me an e-mail and gave little info other than a picture and a few words from the hotel manager...........

I really enjoy them now.

RAMS is one area where you can really stand out against the competition.

This new client, the one we spoke about has rejected two potential suppliers because of generic risk assessments.

They are a pain but I never compromise on them

Darren

Roger is getting on but because I have youth I can see that it is on the LH side by the arched window. You can see that all of the coated area is streaked and I don't think it needs pressure washing but soft washing off.

Rob ;D

Old bloody cheek, if you can see the left hand side of the window then you are seeing a different photo then me? I still stick by the heat, gentle yes, then re-coat if needed.

You now only have to determine if the marks are "on" the coating  or "under " as you thought.
Bear in mind these coatings are designed to resist anything "sticking" to them if you have to reapply. The company will give you a spec for cleaning /preparing the surface for recoating. This will be the case if the marks are "under" the coating.

Maybe a Noncaustic TFR or even a caustic cleaner such as SP10. Check with the manufacturer.

How did you get on with the hotel wall?

Going with the lads tomorrow to take a look.
Armed with an array of things included all the free stuff the guy from The graffiti coating company kindly gave me when I visited his depot in West Hythe today.
