I have 400 gpd twin pumped ro from vyair it will be 2nd lot of membranes in 2 years.
Do i chuck money after bad or get a new ro?

What make were the membranes you put in last time?
I've got a vyair 400 gpd and I got a pair of 200 gpd membranes in October made by HIDROTEK from Pure2o off ebay for around £60.
My tds in is 280ppm and out 12ppm before resin, they seem ok as still the same as when I put them in which is what I would expect.
The original vyair membranes lasted me about 2 years.

How much water are you producing, how often are you changing your pre filters ?

change pre filters every 3 or 4 months.
I produce about 1500 litres of pure a week.

ok, whats happening with the membranes. Is the TDS just rising and you 're thinking of replacing them? The ,membranes should last longer than a year. The weather is colder, thats not good for us producing water. Try flush out the membrane housings (with RO water). Maybe check your incoming tds, has that changed? Just being nosey but what is your incoming tds, and your product tds ? I suppose if its very high going in then your membrane life may be shortened a bit.

Incoming at around 350 tds
coming out of ro at around 80 now was in the 40s a week ago
when i changed membranes was about 10

Whats the pressure of your tap? problem with these the flush tap is either set flush or production... if your pressure is low and water flow is low it starves the RO and the TDS creeps up slowly over time.

With the 40 40 RO you set it at any ratio like 50% pure 50% waste for example which can help the tds find its optiom working position it still may be on the high side but it wont keep rising.

Buy a pressure gauge mate, you might need a booster pump...

It has 2 booster pumps built in m8.
It pumps quick enough but eats membranes.

Are the pre-filters in the right order? Check that.

I would think carefully before replacing it with an expensive 4040 RO.
Personally I would try a different brand of membranes in the vyair first.
It could be that your water supply is high in chlorine which can prematurely kill membranes.
I would rather spend £60 on 400 gpd membrane replacement rather than £200 on a 4040 membrane.

I had a 300 gpd for a year and a bit no trouble whatsoever.only got rid as all my cannisters smashed in the cold

ordered some thanks and some pre filters £95 including vat and postage,cheers just hope its going to work properly now,
