Quick one for PSI experts

Looking at upgrading my current machine which is fairly basic to a much higher PSI machine

a lot of them range around 500 PSI, Powr-Flite etc, however there are 800 PSI machines such as the Airflex Storm

My question is, is 800 PSI necessary, it is adjustable so do people using these machines actually ever set it to such a high PSI?

On carpets no but maybe they are used for T&G which might need the higher psi to use a spinner

I have the Jag which has an 800psi pump but I have never used anywhere near that.Most of the time 250-300 should be enough.

i very rarely use anymore than 300 psi and that includes hard floors.

Agree generally between 200-300, more than enough

The Pumptec 112V pump will give 200/300 psi and will be adjustable if you put in a variable regulating valve

Depends whether you want to do either tile & grout or stone. Some experienced stone people reckon they don't use high pressures for that either, but so far we've been grateful for 800psi & higher available to run a spinner to power rinse hard floors. Carpets, never over 400, mostly 200 to 300.

If you use a wand with a shear type jet manifold with a TM can go to 500psi.
Usually between 300 to 400 psi.

psi is one thing - but a good vac is another - just looking to sort a storm myself - the airflex pro800 is cheaper with sim psi but the vac power is 6.6 like the jag - so for dryer carpet and better extraction, a powerful vac helps a lot. 400psi is only really for hard floor type cleaning, if im right in my thinking.
