My Insurance was up for renew this month so thought I'd give A-plan a try.. Really helpful bunch of guys and beat all other quotes by a fair wack .

I'm 25 with
5 years NCB
650 tank in
07 vivaro,
came in at £530

When I got a quote for my van insurance I got a no claims bonus.

ive always got NCB with my commercial insurance, I havnt personally heard of this, but i guess all insurers have different criteria

ive got no claims on my insurance just moved them to more than (royal sun alliance) and sent proof.. and there fine with it.

Does that cover a DIY tank install or did it have to be fitted proffesionally only mines DIY?

Also is that the company you get the reach & wash courtesy vehicle with?

Yeah DIY tank, fitted through floor etc! And you can get an additional courtesy van with reach and wass system for an additional £82

2010 Ford Transit 280 limited 5 years NCD(650l tank modification)
2011 Fiat Doblo Maxi              0 years NCD
2010 Audi A4 Avant                5 years NCD(in my wifes name)

Got my renewal quote for the above about 3 weeks ago=£1318.I phoned today and told them I would insure the car with them but not the vans as I had a cheaper quote elsewhere.The friendly bloke on the phone went away and sharpened his pencil and came back with a quote of £920 for the lot Well chuffed with that,a saving of £398 on the original renewal quote

You sure it was Aviva? i tried to get a quote the other week for 350 litres and they wouldn't quote it because the tank was too big its not something they do apparently.

Yes,defo Aviva,it has it on my insurance certificate that I have a modification:water tank.They underwrite their own policies.

thats odd... when i tried to renew my insurance they had to speak to the underwriters and then they came back to me and said no sorry... i explained its going to be professionally fitted didnt make any differenc.

In the end i went with more than ( royal sun alliance) you dont even have to ring them up can be done online through there modification list > water tanks ended up about 200 cheaper than aviva anyway.

Only thing I can think of is they prob have different call centres and they are giving out conflicting information.My policy is defo underwritten by Aviva
