Leaflets on car windscreens. Good or bad?
« on: February 12, 2013, 07:05:30 pm »
I think you could put out a ton more leaflets out alot quicker if you where to place them on car windscreens instead of through letter boxes.

Has anyone tried this? Are the converstions atleast on par with through the letter box? any down sides?

Yes this the ideal country to do this, as it is always sunny with no sleet, rain or snow at all.

Depends where you were putting them on. Supermarkets will pull you up as soon as a jobsworth spots you, on the street its litter with your name on it, on a drive it would appear lazy. But hey I'm all for trying things rather than not doing something because reasons it won't work in someones head.

Let us know how you get on.

The litter problems in your town will be worsened when lots of the leaflets are chucked on the floor by those idiots who dont think twice about littering, and your company will be partly to blame IMO

I've tried it a few times on a small scale - but haven't tried it enough to declare it a failure.

Yeah I had thought about the litter issue.

Never done leaflets before just a thought I had while working today. I've seen a few other companies putting leaflets on cars, dont think i've ever seen a home service before though.

I would just try it, the worst thats going to happen is you get shouted at a bit and you learned it didnt work. Do you do leather and car upholstery as well?

Waste of time imho, the weather for starters as i have mentioned and most people will throw it on the floor in a rage.

It won't look good with your leaflets on the floor, the only flyers i have found on the floor in the past are hookers and strip clubs when i'm abroad on holiday.

Make them look like £10 notes, they'll soon pickem up of the floor  ;D and say £10 off first order.

want to try something different......go into your local newsagents and ask if you can put your leaflet in every daily paper and all the magazines, offer the newsagent a free carpet cleaning as payment,

i bet you can find 10 newsagents in a 4mile radius

if you want to use supermarkets then get a young girl to stand at the exit and just say "can i put a leaflet in your bag?"   then get her to stick a leaflet into their carrier bag, they will leave it their until they get home and are unpacking the shopping

as for windscreens I think its will just get chucked on the floor

Hi Tony

Did it years ago when i was mobile car valeting

Make sure if you are doing them in supermarkets ask the manager first or you could end up with the litter bill.

It was one of the fishing rods encouraged by network marketing companies. Have not read link from Tom the printer but you could easily fall foul of local council or anyone who wants to claim damage to car.

It is possible to get permit to hand out leaflets in Town and City Centres as long as you can demonstrate you will pick up within reason  ones thrown on the street afterwards.  Perhaps have someone dressed up as a vaccum cleaner handing them out. Or to keep it really simple very attractive  and well dressed female students  to hand them out. Was where most of the leads came from when i was with World Books , just a simple Yellow Card.
We did get away with having them put on WindScreens at places our target market worked such as hospitals. Asians were very keen to see their kids educated. But things and restrictions have moved on since then.

The Main reason leaflet Legisaltion Orders  came into town  Town Centres is Night Clubs used Cards to promote their venues and made no arrangements for clearing the litter

Personally id say a bad idea.  It really annoys me whenever a leaflet is left under my wiper.  Then theres the problem with litter from those that throw them straight on the floor.  Also if you were to damage the wiper you are liable.

Mike gave me an idea.

Went down to the rather large Tesco we have and
slipped a leaflet in the first half dozen copies of every
TV mag, Womens Own, Women and 3 different home
interior mags. Let's wait and see.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.
