Hi im looking at a van mounted water fed pole system, with either a 300 - 650 ltr tank. Can anyone give me some advice on which system to buy? There seems to be soooooooooo many out there, some very cheap and some very very expensive, ie Ionics, is this the best because this is the most expensive??

Here's some advice that most people would probably agree with:

There'll be a chance for you to see systems from many manufacturers all in one place, and you can have your questions answered.  You'll also be able to try out a variety of different poles at working height

(The Hall has 10 metre high ceilings and there will be a pole demonstration area)

And of course you'll have a chance to meet a few people from this forum!

  Do you know anyone with a system? They are incredibly simple, if you are half decent you could probably build one from components sourced from varying suppliers.
  The advice I would give is get a tank as big as you can afford/van can carry, you would probably end up moving to a larger tank in time.

marc al  im ok at diy, but i would need detailed instructions on how to install it! Would i be able to get hold of these?? They can be very expensive, ionic, just one supplier want 4000.00, not including fitting for a 300ltr tank and all the poles hose ect. Seems so much money for something that does look quite simple, mind you they are in business to make money like all of us!! I would prefer to have a 650ltr tank plus really but your talking mega money!!!

By 200gall per day R/O from RO-Man

Then a 650ltr Bafled tank with fixing kit

100 psi pump flowjet or Shurflow

Lesuire battery at least 85amp

And a varistream flow controler.

Plus a 650ltr storage tank at home.

plus hose and trolly.

with brushes around about £1000 to £12000.

Plus a few hozelock conectors.

I know, they said we are the market leaders, and its the pro 5 system!!! They are the only ones so far i have found that have been thatcham tested, and they bolt the tanks to the chassis of the van, not just through the floor, so the tank has to be sitting over the back wheels!!!

I dont think they bolt them through the chassiss.

Dont quote me on it but i have seen a video once and i am sure they are only bolted through the floor pan.

One of the "pros" around our way has just had a 650 ltr tank fitted in his van by APS.  Fully speedlined. superb stainless steel cage, 2 pumps each in its own waterproofed box, connections for 2 poles to be worked from it each with on/off switches etc etc.  Speaking as a window cleaner and manufacturer at around £2200 inc VAT I have to say I am very impressed by it. OK you would have to add the cost of poles but I would reckon it would be very good value for money.

Just for the record I have never had any dealings with APS myself but only ever here good things about them.

  Build your own, its great fun and when things go wrong you find it easier to
  fix it as you built it yourself. I built my own ( van mount and trolley ) all for
  £700. ( DI sytem) , prob would have spent extra 200 for ro system.

  Had great fun finding cheapest suppliers for all the components.

  Its simple and easy to do and you have the same result tds000, the same as
  you would if you spent £4k.

Give facelift a ring in derbyshire. They did mine, the one in the little pic. Phill who fitted it is an engineer, he designes the frames and biulds them depending which van they are going in.

My tank frame has 6 bolts through the  van floor. Two are fitted through the chassis rails, The two most important fittings near the wheel arches have special metal clamps that are fitted round the chassis rails.

Good on price.  I have 800ltr baffelled tank with pole holders built in.
                                    2 x hose reels & hoses Fitted to van floor
                                    2 Di tanks
                                    2 x flowjet pumps
                                    John Guest fittings
                                    1 leisure battery
                                    1 Shurflow Backpack
                                    1x 38' pole with metal goosehead
                                    1x 18' pole
                                    2x Mini poles
                                   40 x 40 RO System with filters and 13 ltr DI tank on stainless steal Frame.

£3800.00 incl Vat.

why not buy an omnitrolley 125ltr and have a 300ltr tank fitted then you have got the best of both worlds the trolley doubles up as a van mount but can also be taken out of the van for versatility
