Its sometimes better to say nothing....
« on: February 07, 2013, 11:14:19 am »
I've just had a customer say "I don't really like this new way, I don't understand it."

I made the best reply possible.  What do you think I said?

Edit: I've changed the Subject Title to reflect the answer.

No and no to those two.

Keep guessing and we'll see who is on my wavelength.

The same sort of reply I used to give when I was trad:

You pay me to make your windows clean.  How I do them is my business - I'll rub them with the top of my head if I feel like it, but if after I've finished the windows are clean, I've done my job and you have to pay me.

I ain't got a clue what you said......but I do know if you had given them a letter explaining  the system when you first started to clean wfp  you wouldn't have a probelm!!

Thats an interesting observation and I'm sure your double exclaimation marks were typed in jest rather than anger. Every customer on transfer from trad to WFP 8 years ago received a letter explaining the different method of cleaning.

This customer while quite a pleasent old lady is in the camp of those who would rather see all things done the 'old way'.

With this customer I said nothing in reply I simply smiled, she changed the subject to the weather.

Sometimes it's better to say nothing and be thought a fool, rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!
