With this customer I said nothing in reply I simply smiled, she changed the subject to the weather.

Sometimes its better to say nothing.

If we wait a while Gold will come up with a suitable Proverb.....

He also encouraged silence in the face of anger and provocation (S.I,162).

This is the point that I was applying.  The customer wanted a response.

Thanks for the Link Tosh.

Sometimes it's better to say nothing and be thought a fool, rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

I've just had a customer say "I don't really like this new way, I don't understand it."

I made the best reply possible.  What do you think I said?

Edit: I've changed the Subject Title to reflect the answer.

"you stupid f****** old b****,do you think i spent all this f****** money on a system so you can have me climbing a f****** ladder just to please your f****** sense of monetary worth and keep me in my f****** PLACE.....................................................that will be £8.00 please and have a nice day

i must admit that was a bad day for me on that occasion but i did feel better,it was better than any counselling i had up to that point ;D
