Cointra gas water heater from Spain
« on: February 05, 2013, 05:38:51 pm »
They say 3rd time luck.Received a new Cointra gas  water heater today will be fitting it in the next few day. I have all the plumbing done due to chucking out the last Chinese unit.
This spanish manufactured water heater is of very good build quality. I opened it to take a look inside and am more that happy with what I can see.The old one I had seemed to have a lot of loose parts inside which would rattle around. This one is solid, no rattles at all.
Badly translated instructions is a give away to bad quality, the  instructions writen is good clear English the  hall mark of a good products.
I have not used this one yet, but I am optimistic, you can just its quality.I bought it from Amazon and ordered on Friday and received on Tuesday at lunch time and that was free post from Spain.
I did not find it expensive at £174 as it had 2 Flexi braided hoses and quite a few safety features, that other models do not have. I will write more when I have fitted it and is working.

The 20 min cut out is not a cut out timer, its an overheating valve that cuts the gas supply if over heating takes place. All eu passed units have them, its for safety reasons. The chaps who disengage them will have a problem if something bad happened.
. What they do have, which the others do not is meter that tests for oxygen so that it will cut out if there is not enough air flow. This will stop operating if there is not enough ventilation, so one cannot gas yourself. One cannot mess with gas if thing went wrong and someone got injured it would spoil it for all.
Yes you can fit a 4" or 5" flue or work with out one.
