hosepipe conectors for pump+ro
« on: February 03, 2013, 12:26:54 pm »
diaphram pump and ro is not so fast ,   they have the 1/4 conectors for the ro tubing,  im going to use hosepipe instead of ro piping  to see if water purification will be quicker.    can any one or Alex  G. give me a link for the conectors i can screw into my pump and ro inlet   if possible straight with no bend on fitment.   as i said 1 hour to fill 25 litre drum up.   going to see f this way will make a difference.
my diaphram pump is 125psi,     1.2lpm,    looked on pages and people use pumps from machine mart,  maybe id be best investing in one of these stronger pumps,    i cant post pics on here to show you my set up,  it stops them.   they are on the other site.   we know whichone. ???

are you using what looks like a pump we use to clean properties with ? if so that could be the problem, it may give high psi but its only pumping at 1.2lpm thats max 50l an hour, my guess thats being 50/50 waste to pure on RO which is then giving you 25l an hour.
1.2lpm is a joke surly are standard pumps are 5/7lpm

what RO are you using ?>
Have you tried it without the pump and take pressure and flow is faster than that normally

Hi JB

It may be that your pump is not up to the job. Did I read right that it is only 1.2lpm? If so with 75% waste going down the drain it will only be pumping out at 18lpm product per hour.

What is your tap pressure?

You may need a pump like this - http://www.ro-man.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=pump&product_id=84

Of course there is always this monster -  http://www.ro-man.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=pump&page=2&product_id=245

Why not give Ro-Man a call on 01823698813 they will advise as to which pump is best suited to your needs as they sell these 300gpd type systems.

I'll save you the call I spoke to roy this very evening as the diaphram has suddenly burst on mine and he has none of those in stock and not sure when they will be in either

I'm sure you can get a diaphragm kit to repair these pumps.
