Hi guys, ive seen it mentioned on here an another thread so i thought id start a new topic.

Ive got a transit connect with a fitted bulk head. If there is a little a bit of water in the back it will eventually find its way into the passenger's footwell.

Ive tried sealing the bulkhead with mastic etc but it still comes through.....

any ideas anyone ??

i always seem to have a bit of water floating about in the footwells!!!

mine kept getting water in the footwells, so i seals the rear most bottom part of the tank frame where it meet the floor, and built up a wall of sealant either side of it to create a barrier the whole width of the van, it has stopped water getting into my foorwells

The only way to stop it happening is to fix the leak/spillage, I have a similar set up with sealant everywhere but if I have a leak/spillage it always ends up in the footwell!

In addition to fixing the leak/spillage I also drilled a drain hole next to the VIN plate.

Always water in the back of mine. Need to fix the leaks or get some protectacote or similar.

I think it is nearly impossible to stop all leaks and spillages, especially with hot water. I just can't understand how all the sealant doesn't stop it going in the footwell. It must be seeping somewhere, if only we could find where I'm convinced it would solve it. Help needed!

I've got one in my Berlingo and it stops any leakages entering the driver/passenger area.

It came with the van when I bought it, I am the second owner and it was owned by a parts delivery company before I had it.
The one i've got is really good and covers the whole of the cargo area and up the sides to a height of about 8" from the floor.
It's actually a Peugeot bootliner but the Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo are the same.
ps. It's a proper hard plastic one not crappy rubber or anything.

Yes  I have a dry connect!

It took a while but now it's dry  

Push the plugs up in the foot wells!
1st time you do it don't put you head under!

I had a similar problem with my old Connect, it smelt so bad sometimes!

The water was getting through under the plastic cover on the floor by the side door.
Why not try and remove it and put a bead of silicone around the under side and where the water may be drainng through to the front.

(and fix any leaks )

Get under ye van by the foot well
The plugs are in the lowest point of the cab
Get a screw driver and push them up

And keep your head out the way !

I also have this problem lately. Its does come in under the rubber mats. I will be removing the tank in the warmer season and sealing it properly with a sealer, but they do have bigger holes under the bulkhead lower corners which I might fibreglass over.I got my van with a marine ply board floor from British gas and a steep drive way , which drains it most days.

ive had this problem and have had to remove the passenger flooring twice to dry it out.
So basically i have ran a load of mastic along the bottom and underneath the bulk head at the back when this dried i then put 2-3 coats of protectakote over it about 4 inches high onto the bulkhead and the same on the floor, for the big gaps at either side of the bulkhead i just used some expanding foam to fill them in let it dry and then cut off the excess and then put 2-3 coats of protectakote over these as well since having done that ive had no issues. You may find water will also get into the footwell next to the sliding door at the back and leak into the passanger side footwell i also took this off and used expanding foam to fill the gaps with some protectakote and finally i put the plastic that fits into the footwell at the back sealed with mastic underneath on the edges and used a few self tappers to hold it down tightly on the edges and 2-3 coats of protectakote around that too this has solved the problem for me.
