i'm using a much longer bit lately & noticed it stiffening & curling up a bit last couple of weeks but today its gone absolutely berserk, todays been pretty warm as well no fleece or gloves & we haven't really had any snow yet so why has it just gone mad today?????? i've done half of what i should cos i've been untwisting & pulling it  free all day. made me see the benefits of warm water alright

Man, hoses are not inanimate! It's a fact! They conspire with all manor of other supposedly non  living entities just to try and irritate the fecal matter out of you.
Do quantum mechanics fix old transits?

And let us not forget, voyeurism is an occupational hazard that we simply must endure.

You said it yourself.  All the extra length just lies about getting twisted.  Extend your pole to the maximum you would ever use it and then cut off your pole hose a couple of metres from the bottom of your pole.  Much less to wrestle with ;D
