The first time he doesn't work with us, and works on a job on his own he takes the p.
So we will be looking for a new subbie soon.

I understand your comments, but this is how it is.
We can cover nearly all of our work and we have used this guy for about 2 years, Two vans are required at two commercial jobs we do for the same company. We couldn't finish one job as we pulled off due to heavy snow, we got him to go back and finish and agreed to pay a full days money as we need to get the job off.
Put it this way if you had a guy working for you and he missed nearly all the windows he had to do then rings up and says job complete, and then you get a call putting a complaint in that all the work that he was supposed to do was not done only the atrium was done what would you do? We asked him and basically he lied then admitted it, he said sorry and it would not happen again. Blue chip jobs are not easy to come by,sorry but the trust has gone. We think we pay well to avoid idiots, how wrong are we.

If he knew what he was supposed to do and then didn't, then lied, then you were right to fire him.
It's a game of three halves!

Update on our  Ex Contractor, I got a phone call from a cleaning contractor( Who we know very well ) who uses our Ex contractor, they have also got rid of him and are taking him to court. Unbelievably he invoiced a job and never done it, apparently maintenance guys were working at the building over a weekend and were told he was coming and never showed. Apparently the building maintenance manager suspected this has it happened on more than one occasion. What a idiot.
We will be looking for a new subbie soon, those who have shown interest thanks and we have some deatils, we pay day rate only, at £250.00 per day covering west surrey. Approx 2 /4 days per month.

I'm not posting numbers on here as we have had some lunatics in the past on the phone.
