Oven cleaning without diptank
« on: January 20, 2013, 12:19:59 pm »
Hi, is it possible to clean ovens to a professional standard without using a diptank. Or if using a plastic tray of some kind instead?? Thanks

Hi Steven

It's difficult without a dip tank as the heat helps remove the built on dirt, along with the correct chemicals.

Also removing the doors makes the job far easier and allows you to split the door to clean between the glass.

I offer training and start up packages and am not too far from you.

Give me a call or email if you want details, contact details on my website.

I dont use diptanks for commercial kitchen cleaning.
It will be easier if you plan on doing domestic ovens with one though.

Don't bother listening to the one's that say you need a diptank for domestics, they would say that after spending all that money. I get a lot of enquiries for oven cleaning even though i don't really advertise for it, so i sub it out, but i am thinking of adding it to our service.

I have tried a few oven cleaners until i have have found the right guy, he is the only one not to use a dip tank, he is self taught and he use's a large tray for the racks. Every customer is over the moon with his work and he can also get through 3 jobs a day easily, 4 sometimes depending on the jobs, so it does not seem to slow him down!

No it's something like this - http://www.ovenkit.co.uk/ ,
but bigger, so he has no metal tank with heater.

I've seen the jobs he has done and they are spot on and the customers always use him again.
Maybe he's just a one off , because i get knackered just watching him.  :D

You split hairs if you wish, call it a tray or tank the purpose is still to soak the items which allows the chemicals to work while you clean something else. Yes we can all get by without the nice extras but being in a professional trade dictates we SHOULD have the right tools for the job. We did a commercial kitchen clean recently and I would have liked to have a TRAY to soak the parts - good job I have a very hot pressure washer  ;)

Yes you can but you need very hot water and a good caustic solution you would need 2 trays one with clean water to rinse I sometimes work this way on EOT but its easier with a tank.
