Smudger (what is the costs per day to run your set up and what was total outlay (please include replacement costs in daily figure)

Could you all say what you have for heating water so everyone knows

I sit on the fence in regards to this as I use Cold.

It was me Mick.

Ian, next time try a little humour; you take it all to seriously.

Dont worry I now know you dont want someone to have a little laugh as your user name, I was unaware we wern't allowed to use your old username, no-one explained that to me.

It is obvious now though that you are a bit of a t!t. I would have taken it as a compliment personally. Hey ho.

Do I qualify as a WFP hot diy with 2x1000w aquarium heaters? If so, then about £80.

the above is what i got but i'm sure are 500 watts ( i'd have to dig out the reciept from 2011 ) to be sure
mine cost about 4.50 each with free p&p

any hoo
they run from 10pm through to 7am in this cold weather (15p p/h to midnight 8p p/h from m/n to 7am)
on chilly nights i run from midnight to 7 am  ( total  86p a day  in the worst weather 56p all other times)

for the 1500 watt as linked times cost by 3 (2.56 or 1.68)

i tested them from around a month just dropping them through the lid.

they are fully waterproof and drilled an 8mm hole in the top of the tank for the cable then sealed with silicone
the heater is 1 inch from the bottom of the tank. i have twin 500 ltr tanks so 1 in each.
