Adwords - setup help required
« on: February 10, 2006, 08:55:32 pm »
I'm trying to set up Adwords and I just can't get to grips with it. Does anyone know it inside out?

I've set up the 'campaign' and have selected it to be targeted at users within 75 miles of me.

Whenever I do a search of the any of the keywords it tells me that it can not find my ad because.......

The user is located outside your campaign's geo-targeting area.

Now then, I'm obviously bang smack in the middle of my targeted area.

Any idea why I'm getting this?

Come on folks, lets have some input.
CMS is forever giving advice way and above what anyone could expect on here, so let's give some back.

okee dokey,
dont set it to areas, set it to countrys and then choose uk.
when you are doing your title, add as many keywords in as you can, i think you get 25 for title
35 for discription ,
ie       cmc cleaning birmingham
          office cleaning in midlands
          nationwide cleaners

notice how many search words you can get, cleaners, cleaning, cleaning birmingham, office cleaning, nationwide, midlands, cmc

this is just an example, with a bit of thought you can push your site up the list.

AdWords needs some time to process your settings, you should give it a day or so and then check again.  I would however stick with local setting, why would you pay for a click may by somebody in Newcastle?

The more you prepared to pay per click the better/higher position your website would have achieved.  AdWords has a tool, which helps you to generate key words.  There is no limit on the amount of key words you can use in your campaign.

I have given up on AdWords, as for few months of complaining I have only had one click from it, I get clients from yell.com, however.

Mancharry (Peter), managed to get for me three enquiries through his website, which he has set up for me.  You could ask him to do a website for you, he offer one month free, no obligation trial.

Kind regards,
Arthur
