fans use less and you chould rinse on the glass lifting the top corner of the brush to create a head of water at the top frame, i use both and to be honest rinse on with all of them with perfect results both ways, a lot comes down to the flow rate you use as well, fan jets are better with a higher flow rate ( i dont bother using a controller) as for speed on the glass, i depends on the type of glass but i am slightly faster with fans, however i will use pensils on first cleans - the answer is to buy the red ones from gardiners that will fit into standard holes and try them, if you dont like them they are only about £3, what i did is get a vikan brush and drill the holes for the larger diameter fan jets so i have a brush that has both fans and pensils, i wonder if it would be a good idea to do this on the 4 holed gardner brush and just use two at a time ( i might do this now )
