My sandblasting days are long over Rob

Used to do a bit when I was 18 - long time ago!

Was half thinking about a Doff or similar type system Vortech

Or something that blast out steam at 150 degrees plus

I am probably going to be investing this year.

A decent Ingersoll Rand compressor with decent CFM (250 and above) start around 5/6K, there are plenty of pots & bits & bobs on Ebay though.

I am still on the recycling set up as well, which would work well with collecting the sand blasting crap. There is a shout on my works for removing white lines and I have another reason for establishing a static operation.

Darren I think the best thing to happen would be if you just gave me all your kit and work and you go and retire to Bulgaria ;D ;D

Great pictures Rog

The stain just off left centre - down to wear on the original coating and then being weathered?

The slight green looking board? No it's a tanalised timber (european redwood)  so unfortunately this can happen, will fade over time but the green will always be there somewhere.

Darren,

I would chemically strip that house. when i worked for a company in london we used to strip paint of those houses day in day out. messy job, lots of prep but easily done. if you price to use doff or similar you will price yourself out. lots of companies in london doing this type of work. all done chemically.

You dont need me ..you two have figured it out for yourselves and you have all the gear....
As  i am still listening and learning from the pro's ....Just a couple of questions tho'
The similarities between the Doff and the Vortech are what?
What do you propose to use to "blast out" 150 an at what sort of flow and pressure?
Would that be  celsius or fahrenheit?
Would you use a paint stripper on it?
Do you think there would be much mess? If so would it need to be disposed of specially (Hazardous)?

One of the deck's we did this week, even in this weather,

Monday morning before,

Tuesday morning, after deck had been cleaned, dried and sanded,

Tuesday lunchtime re-oiled and finished.

what did you use on the decking to clean off the grime ? ............ guessing not a turbo nozzle ?

Just let me know, wouldn't be able to fit it in till late August, or if you can get it back over here, and it can wait till winter, I can do it then (have workshop) ready for 2014.
