Has anyone seen these before, and are they suitable for using on upholstery?

I suspect the RPM will be far too fast, i have sent many an email to suppliers to find out the RPM on cheap machines and the are always to fast. I would think about 150 would be about the max, but more experienced guys on here may have a more definite answer.

I have used simular but find the oscillating action grips the fabric more where a de walt drill with a speed control is more suited.

I cannot get such devise to work on Car , yet alone Upho;stery and  Stairs  Just does not work smothley enough for me and I would probably cause damage if I persisted with experiment

They are usless for car polishing and even worse for aggitation. If you want electric for aggitation you want an oscilator then you dont damage the fabric. One of these

Ive got a meguiars osc for sale if any one wants it £100.

I'm still looking for something that will attach
to my cordless drill, some kind of brush attachment.
Must be something out there.

Looks ok but no specs with it i.e. what size.
What Russ uses looks pretty good what is it
and do the brushes come with it?

The electric DA machine i was using is called a kestrel, you can buy these off Ebay for under £100, the brushes are specially made specifically for upholstery cleaning and delicate carpets.
Rumour has it that Nick at Solutions can supply the brushes and a machine which has dual brush's, this is ideal for agitating larger areas such as sofa cushions.

Sorry wrong link. These things are built like tanks and every part is available as a spare. They have been available in the US for decades and are the same as the mini Orbot from HOS.

My cyclo arrived this morning... as Jamie said they are built like tanks and have probably the best selection of accessories available.
If you are working on lots of upholstery a machine like this is a must, changeable brushes allow the operator to work on  anything from fine fabrics to tile and grout, add two foam pads to the supplied velcro backing plates and you can polish your van too!

built like a tank and weighs the same ;)

does any one clean upholstery that is so dirty it requires mechanical agitation? its not a carpet were agitation is needed to get the prespray deep into the pile, a light scrub with a hand brush is all upholstery needs..... unless its miles of pub seating.

IMO all these machine are not needed and a waste of money

Russ

How much roughly do you charge for the car valeting? i.e. the upholstery and carpets in a car?

Something I always get asked about but never gave it any thought till now.

Yeah, like Mike I find a hand brush is more than adequate on upholstery. Your not brush for that long that it hurts your forarm or hand.

I suppose it would be quite good to use it firstly
pre vac to loosen the muck in the seats, then after
vaccing as agitation for pre spray.
But mainly on car u/h.
Carpet Dawg....I too get asked quite regularly but
turn it down because I find it hard to price versus
not knowing how long it will take.
