Advice needed please - Pressure Washing
« on: January 02, 2013, 11:38:23 pm »
I had a customer ask today could I powerwash some areas but not make them look brand new.

She's live in an old stone house and likes to keep the idea of it looking weathered but doesn't want the slippery moss. Also has some staining where water has run down the sides past the gutters.

Any ideas as to what I can recommend to remove the moss and staining but keeping the patina effect?

I have a product that i use for soft washing of listed buildings. Mix at 50:1 spray and walk away. Covers about 4/5 sqm per litre of mix depending on porosity of substrate . Algae and moss die within 12 hours and the cleaning takes place at is own rate over 3/4 months by the wind and rain...very gentle but also very effective.

That's sounds like what I'm asking. Its not a listed building (don't think) but I has similar properties.

What is this stuff, bought from?

£20 per litre   . mix at 50:1 with water (very cheap) . Spray at 5m per litre. £20 =250sqm.  Spray and walk away
How do you propose to do it if £20 is too expensive?

Smartarseal /Kleeneazeeeeee value for money! ;D

£20 is not too expensive but I'm not prepared to pay out for a product that just you alone says it works.

Then a kleeneze gag is thrown in, which in my mind cast doubt, especially when someone like Blastaway (Lee I think) is saying it. Having met Blastaway and read his posts, i would be trusting his views first.

mwc,   chris is only trying to help you out with his experience gained through his work, kleeneze and smartseal are just   dealers in exterior cleaning sources.   like ronseal , etc.,  these are companys that offer these cleaning solutions. you must have similar companys in ireland  offering similar products saving on postage etc.
