Bank manager comedy sketch .. not really but felt I was in one
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:51:05 am »
Business wise next year going to be different from the last 3 years .... last 3 years an experiance builder.

So off to a bank near me to see a friend of a friend who is a senior manager for some advice .. accounts / loans etc.

this is a cut down version of the conversation when it turned to bank loans ...... cant say bank or where as in fairness the chap is helpful and we are moving foward.

ME  I would like a bank loan

HIM  sorry we cant do that at the moment

ME  why not im a good risk

HIM  nowt to do with that

ME  whats that supposed to mean ?

HIM we havent got any

ME  any what ?

HIM  money to lend out ... were not doing that kinda thing at the moment

ME  what about all the billions the government had gave to you to lend out to people like me with small businesses

HIM  were keeping hold of that

ME  your supposed to lend that out aren't you ?

HIM  errr yes but they wont ... were keeping hold of it

ME  hmmmmmmm

HIM  however if you want a loan for a new car then we can help

ME  WTF  :o

very surreal

Bank: You can't have any money because it's ours.
Customer: But it's taxpayers money !
Bank: No it's ours.
Customer: Well it came from the taxpayer?!
Bank: But they gave it to us. They can't ask for it back. It's rude. How do you think the banks are going to stay in Business if we lend other people other peoples money ?

I know a LLoyds business manager, He said they make money from lending money.

A bank is more likely to give you a loan for a Car than for business, because they are lending at less risk on a tangible asset, If a business fails then they can lose the lot.

He went on to tell me when they are considering lending to a business, they look at the  "person" first , he said if a customer can't sell themselves to me, then how are they going to sell themselves to there potential customers.

They are lending, they are just being careful with there money

I can remember many moons ago, my manager said, "No Dave, you don't want a business loan do you Dave, you want a "CAR LOAN" don't you ?

wink wink

its a way for the goverment to keep these banks going , more money for the share holders , the money they have had would have kept a lot of bussiness up and running one big con like a lot of other things they are doing,

only bank charges I get are the normal ones for putting cheques in etc
I too have got martgages when I wanted them
they pool the managers now, which annoys the hell out of me.
there computer system that says yes or no is seriously floored which leads me to my prior answer.
Then when you dont want it, it say yes GRrrrrrrr they get to me really they do.

They should be helping growth not strangling it.

My favourite analogy is this: 'banks love to sell you an umbrella, as long as its not raining'.

Hi David
Not trying to be a smart @r$$ but I couldn't resist it ;D
I hate banks and bankers - big time -  they have stiffed us all in so many ways.
The greatest White Collar crime in the history of the world has been committed - they have walked away (with the cash) free as birds and we are paying and will pay for years to come.
No different from the muggers and robbers who go out in hoodies - except they did it under the guise of professionals dressed in suits and ties.
And it continues - same old - same old.
G.
