Hi guys in the back of my transporter i have a 400 litre flat tank held down by two 2 tonne straps
i dont think my tank is going anywhere!!! but i am looking at buying a 500 litre upright tank, for people
who have upright tanks, are they framed in or do you strap them down? have been looking at frames that i can buy like on window cleaning warehouse or a fitted one from purefreedom.
I dont rearly like the thought of welding a frame into my van simply for resale thoughts, and also spending an arm and a leg on it.

Soo how do you hold your tanks in?

Ive a 500ltr upright in my van held in with a frame.
My brother-in law & i made the frame out of 50x50x5 angle iron, which i brought from a local fencing company, total cost £75.

I have a lwb kombi transporter with a 500L tank in the back,it sits in a metal base that is bolted to the load carrying points and the tank is ratchet strapped to the metal base,it`s solid i have used the same set up using the same metal base in 3 different vans

Did you remove the ring hooks from the mounts then?

Did you remove the ring hooks from the mounts then?

Ye and if the thread goes through the floor then you can use long bolts and a metal plate with locking nuts underneath for added safety

The frame is bolted through the floor and chassis with spreader plates to spread the load.
Ive got a pic somewhere, i'll post it later

the above is what you need, the load tie down rings alone will not be enough unless they go through the floor, you need to go through the chassis
