Not much more than a pound a day if using £13 every fortnight.

ok on maintenance cleans is this just to keep you warm of does it honestly save you time if so how ?

It removes any dirt quicker, it drys a lot quicker too.

same here. A gas heater is so cheap that it's a bonus come winter time.

im not knocking just interested.

Does anyone have any really costing if this is or isnt just a luxury or a profit pulling benifit ?

Mines cost £140 to buy

£40 extra fittings for how mine is set up

£13 for 2 weeks work if using each day all day for my system.

do you work 6 hours solid with couple of hour max driving in you day Richard ?
trying to gage your use, for all I know you work 10 till 2 like alot of people on here  (im playing)

At the moment I leave the house about 8:30 back home by 3-4. Depending on houses. Guessing about 5 hours work on poles.

26p an hour to run  does that sound right ?

Give or take its around that, just depends what system people have, it's about right for mine.

i already make money per hour mate, if it increases it, then its worth it, if not then its not, im not either for or against it but these answers are good, I want cold (no pun) hard facts if it makes more or not for the hassle. new cleans we have that covered it does, by how much thats not been answered yet (someone must be as geeky as me on the figures)

If you are only interested in money and are sat in the office all day then don't get a heater. Don't buy carbon poles either 'cos they cost more and won't make more money. Don't buy xtreme brushes 'cos they won't make more money either.

Depends how you use it really, you could have one guy pushing pole up and down at 1mph and another guy that pushes it up and down at 4mph, there is no definite answer as everyone is different on how they use it,

Not on new windows but on conservatory Roofs, those flat round grey moss bit you get on plastic ones with cold water I always had to scrap them off, with the hot water it softens them so they just come off without any problem.

Green algee comes off a lot quicker too.

Bird muck comes off easy too

I don't think anyone buys into a hot system to make more money. They might well buy a hot system to work more hours throughout the winter though.

I am being nice. Those are facts I've posted. nobody buys an Xtreme pole to make more money.

My post is honest and very useful to normal people too. Don't go putting up stupid polls if you are not prepared to listen to anyone.

tbh honest woith you, I bought clx over xtels because they make me more money not always true what you have just said. I use slx because I have problems with back, i have tried extreme but at the moment dont have the use for it

sometimes the extra cost is worth it as it saves you time which makes more money, this is what I am getting at Dave, this is the angle I am coming at because I employ people, I dont want to buy hot water systems just for the sake of it and then have the cost of running them, that would make me crazy without real reason

I've already told you you won't be making more money on day today working as an employer. As an operator yes you'll save a bit of time and be more comfortable but it's not the path to getting rich. As I've also said it could mean the difference between working in sub zero temperatures or sitting at home. The band for working and not working is still very narrow - probably two or three degrees only.

Also, as an employer I doubt you can go for the cheap gas route, so if you go diesel, rather than a couple of hundred quid outlay, you will be looking at three to four grand per van. Thats well over six grand for you. I doubt if you would recoup that.

There are gas ones that are good for the bigger guys, costs a little more but you can fill you gas up at any petrol station that sells lpg at the pump!

You would be surprised really, if you need to know more, concept o2 all there vans are gas powered heater and i didnt see any first extinguishers in any of there vans,
They have there gas bottles fitted under the van where the spare wheel goes.

We are getting a Purefreedom/pure2o hot system fitted in the next week or 2, with one job in mind, which is basically a first clean on a site we will be on for up to 3 weeks, in January, so will be worth it's weight in gold for that contract alone.

We also do commercial building and fascia cleans, so it will do well on those also.

Ian, stop ping about and get it done.

i run 4 vans on cold water and all vans worked every possible day they could last year - the only days they didnt work was when the roads were like ice rinks , hot watre or not nobody worked on those days. We lost no days through sub zero temps when the roads were negotiable and with cold yes COLD water.

Easy formula,

oil filled rads in vans at night, go and work during the day the van is warm due to your heater and when really cold keep water running as much as poss as running water doesnt freeze , always keep a bag of rock salt handy.

Job done - no days off, work completed as usual no hassle with gas , boilers , extra expenses , etc
