whats very interesting on this poll, there are nearly 20% of people looking to go hot, yet none at time of replying fitted by a supplier.

Would be interesteing to understand why this is, are the suppliers lacking in something, or if it purely down to cost ?

Ionics have played at very good part in making our industry what it is today although they didnt start it, they just helped it be wider known via there marketing efforts

What I find very interesting that hot users are not raving about it on maintenence cleaning rather new cleans and add ons. and the time of year its used not being winter thats very interesting indeed.

Yet people say they use hot all year round, whys this ?

this is why I like creating different posts and polls some more off the wall than others  , it allows everyone 'myself included' to get better insight into things and different thoughts of people.

We dont use hot yet and the reason is simply I had it demonstrated by two companies and each failed to clean my windows well with it, yet I could clean well with cold.
for that reason alone i totally dismissed it (my mistake maybe, maybe not)

Will this change quite possibily if I can see the benifit to my business


it was recently I started to look once again more into it because I am looking to expand again and want to make this easier for first cleans and extras (automated sales funnel to gain extras if possible)

but again now it is cost against time will it save time, im hearing it is New cleans extras,  and what the cost of that saving, im yet to work this figure out. anybody already been this anal and worked this out ?



having a warm hose and not freezing a couple of times a year is not a good enough reason for me to invest time and money into something, maybe others feel the same too ?

Im looking for answers on how long does it really shave off each job on maintenence cleans as this is where most of are work is.
how long does it save on first cleans,  fascia and conservatory roofs (this really interests me as this would help massively with what im looking to do)
I am very interested to see what Lee Pryor does as I like the way he thinks and isnt scared to jump in and try something out.



I would love to go out with someone that has a hot system to test it out again, possibly on maintenance and extra cleans like a con roof or fascia.

i had a case of this the other day.

turned up at a job and started on first window, water froze to the window, turned the hot water system on and waited for a few minutes, water came out warm and was able to get on with cleaning! otherwise i would of had to of gone home and came back later in the day when it warmed up

so you dont use it all the time then Richard ?

not 100% of the time, only when the frosts are about, i have used it non stop for the last 2 weeks,  

its only been fitted in the van for a month now!

that is exactly what i was going write. even if you employ, and are not on the tools, if your workers are able to work one day extra, it has payed for itself.

stop asking questions about hot systems Ian, and just get one

I dont, and i'm sure dave doesn't mean a years use, we are talking about the setup cost.

even if you are not going to use a hot system all year around, it is still a good investment for the winter months> I know mine has paid for itself already, i have worked a couple of days where i would not have been able to if i only had cold water.

Tonight it's forecast to be minus four. First thing in the morning I'll heat the van with a fan heater, and fire up the gas and pump hot water through the hosereel. First job of the day and my water will be warm and hoses supple. Lovely jubbly.

yer same temp for here too! i got to park my van up on my drive and plug it in tonight, got a heater that runs all night to keep frost off all pumps etc
yer its great how well the hoses go with warm water, no more stiff hoses!

He must be minted! fair play to him, he was a window cleaner once upon a time. Really we should all be very greatful to him, his company started the wfp window cleaning industry. Without that many of us would not earn a fraction of what we do and its made the industry into a proper business.

I have hot water systems in my vans, and having another fitted tomorrow.

Superb on first cleans, and excellent on cladding, also when just on warm stops the hoses freezing on the ground and also keep your hands warmer in the cold 

All fitted at Brodex, and upto now (touch wood), they have been brilliant.

Give or take its around that, just depends what system people have, it's about right for mine.

26p an hour to make £30-£50 an hour, I think it's worth it!
