our hot systems are being fitted tomorrow. Yay

looking forward to having a play but im a bit sad I didnt have the benefits for the years I was on the tools. I really could have done with it during those hundreds of first cleans, green con roof and fascias and cold winters.

You'll love it. Don't listen to the hot haters. It's such a pleasure to work with when its cold. Supple hose, warmer pole, cuts through grime and algae.

Enjoy.

I've been Wfp for years. No need for crash tested systems, fancy vans or hot water.
I take mine anywhere.

Nice sandals.

Is that true?

He must be minted! fair play to him, he was a window cleaner once upon a time. Really we should all be very greatful to him, his company started the wfp window cleaning industry. Without that many of us would not earn a fraction of what we do and its made the industry into a proper business.

Ionics have played a significant part in WFP window cleaning in UK and Europe but his company didn't start the concept of pure water cleaning or cleaning windows with water fed poles, this began in USA and Tucker were the first to introduce us to this method of window cleaning. I can remember cleaning windows with a tucker pole over 12 years ago in London, Oxford and Bristol and the public wold look at this method with amazement as it wasn't common at all back then and pretty much unheard of for residential work. WFP has developed loads in just over a decade and Ionics have played a big part in that.

Been cold for over 4 yrs now and hardly missed a days work in the past winters even dragging PF trolley through a 1 ft of snow in some peoples gardens .

If it is that cold were water will freeze on glass even hot wont work to a point  as once it cools it will freeze and if you aint got a 4x4 how keen would you be driving on icy roads with 300 ltrs of water and more in back of your van . Mike

Ive been using diy hot for over 4 yrs, & its not the answer to all your winter problems.
As mentioned before, in really cold weather the warm water will rince the glass but it will freeze up after.
Hot is better in the milder weather when the temperatures can be turned up to aid cleaning, when theres more baked on spider, bee, fly pooh around, or for cleaning gutters/ fascias/ con roofs etc.
In the winter hot is only helpfull to keep hose from freezing on the ground and to keep the hose soft.
Say all this, i use hot every day on every job, & wouldnt be without it.

whats very interesting on this poll, there are nearly 20% of people looking to go hot, yet none at time of replying fitted by a supplier.

Would be interesteing to understand why this is, are the suppliers lacking in something, or if it purely down to cost ?

Ionics have played at very good part in making our industry what it is today although they didnt start it, they just helped it be wider known via there marketing efforts

What I find very interesting that hot users are not raving about it on maintenence cleaning rather new cleans and add ons. and the time of year its used not being winter thats very interesting indeed.

Yet people say they use hot all year round, whys this ?

this is why I like creating different posts and polls some more off the wall than others  :-X, it allows everyone 'myself included' to get better insight into things and different thoughts of people.

We dont use hot yet and the reason is simply I had it demonstrated by two companies and each failed to clean my windows well with it, yet I could clean well with cold.
for that reason alone i totally dismissed it (my mistake maybe, maybe not)

Will this change quite possibily if I can see the benifit to my business

it was recently I started to look once again more into it because I am looking to expand again and want to make this easier for first cleans and extras (automated sales funnel to gain extras if possible)

but again now it is cost against time will it save time, im hearing it is New cleans extras,  and what the cost of that saving, im yet to work this figure out. anybody already been this anal and worked this out ?

having a warm hose and not freezing a couple of times a year is not a good enough reason for me to invest time and money into something, maybe others feel the same too ?

Im looking for answers on how long does it really shave off each job on maintenence cleans as this is where most of are work is.
how long does it save on first cleans,  fascia and conservatory roofs (this really interests me as this would help massively with what im looking to do)
I am very interested to see what Lee Pryor does as I like the way he thinks and isnt scared to jump in and try something out.

I would love to go out with someone that has a hot system to test it out again, possibly on maintenance and extra cleans like a con roof or fascia.

Thats my thoughts on hot.

I am open to anything, whats your thoughts ?

got both in my van,  hot on one hose and cold on the other!

mines DIY and only cost £140 to do it.

can change temp with a turn of dial, so can have it just luke warm or red hot!

its great on green conservatory roofs, shifts everything nice and quick!

cost about £13 for 2 weeks to run for me!

If hot enables me to work one day longer in a year than a cold system then it's payed for itself by lunchtime.

that is exactly what i was going write. even if you employ, and are not on the tools, if your workers are able to work one day extra, it has payed for itself.

stop asking questions about hot systems Ian, and just get one  ;D

if you miss one day because of the cold wether, where you could have worked with a hot system, then it has paid for itself.

i had a case of this the other day.

turned up at a job and started on first window, water froze to the window, turned the hot water system on and waited for a few minutes, water came out warm and was able to get on with cleaning! otherwise i would of had to of gone home and came back later in the day when it warmed up
