Hi just starting out with a truck mount.
Can any one recomend van insurance company ?
And what other insurance will I need ?

HSBC appear to be very cheap, and if youre in business for 2 years or more, you get 5% discount....my premium was £242...for public liability & treatment risk...If you want van contents too, thats £200 more.You can pay by instalments too ...Theyre in Bournemouth, Dorset...and their number is:    01202 455622...hope this helps.

100% sure only slight downfall is £500 excess but for me thats fine

Hi Scot,

With HSBC have you got  tools and equipment included with P/ liability and treatment risk.

The reason I ask is that the insurance company that I have been with for the past 15 years with my truckmount appeared to be more expensive than HSBC until I phoned them and they were going to be almost £100 dearer.

Also is your insurance for a truckmount and do you have a separate policy for your van.

McGregor Lloyd, 0121 7060616, offer cover for your van and truckmount together. I don't think you would get your truckmount covered under the HSBC policy.
You need:
Public Liability
Treatment Risk (for items being worked on)
Vehicle Insurance
Equipment Insurance

Dont forget you need to get all risks on your truckmount including being written off in an accident.

My Commercial Vehicle policy ( full no claims ) £334.95 including 5% tax premium.

Total Cost £622.70

I am with darwen clayton and my premium is £1200 per year thats for £5.000000 public liability cover and treatment risks and £12000 worth of machine and tool cover exess is £100

your paying for extra cover you don't need proably ! have you really started of with £12000 of equiptment & landed contracts in houses or offices worth £5mil ? also if upped excess to £250 or £500 would bring it down to something sencible

no..I didnt get tools and equipment cover, as its covered under a different policy.....2 staff covered under the policy, and no truckmount..
