WCP alternatives?
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:03:57 pm »
Finding WCP limited now, and need something that can keep up with my business.

Whats out there as an alternative?

Would ideally like:

1) Ability to quote.
2) Direct email to customers for invoicing.
3) Direct texts to customers, to save on 2 pieces of software.
4) App which allows operators access to their work sheets, and ability for them to update accordingly.
5) App which could link to sat nav.
6) Cloud based
That's just off the top of my head...!!

www.aworka.com  has 3 out of 6 on your list .

No sat nav link up that would take a lot of doing for that to be possible surely.

No direct texts to custys , although when i look over my workload in the planner it has a speech  bubble over each custy that i have to ring or text the night before which helps remind me to do so .

And no quoting which i thought there was but you can add a potential custy and mark to estimate not used it really as yet . Mike

Aworka does have quoting: You can create estimates, containing one or more items, which can be emailed or printed.

The direct texting is something I'm going to be adding very soon (in the next month or so). You will be to configure a customer to be sent texts the night before a clean and/or to notify after you have cleaned, with payment details or a link to an invoice if applicable.

So 4/6 of the items, with the 5th coming soon!

Chris, if you move on to other things, where would I be as a customer in terms of my data etc? Is there any way I am protected for the future?

It's a fair question!

Your data can already be exported in CSV format, which can be opened in a spreadsheet, or used as the basis for import into another system.

I'm currently formulating some more ideas about backups to make the system safer, e.g. automatic daily/weekly backups to your personal DropBox, where the backup file could be in a format that you could work from directly if you needed to.

When you get the texts sorted, and some form of security for me, I'd go with it, as WCP is far too unstable, and I feel we have outgrown it.

Is there the ability to work offline on Aworka

The main Aworka site does not work offline at the moment, but I have designed the mobile web app so that it does work offline since mobile internet connections via 3G are still a bit hit and miss!

Does sound like a good product IF you develop it to suit the demands of users, like WCP should have done.

We are a growing business, and need a system that is capable of running hassle free, and does all the things we need. Running unreliable systems is time consuming, therefore costly.

Hi concept got say i have been using aworka 8 months now and it is  top notch made things so much easier . you can print off multiple work sheets for different operators or if they have for instance an android phone each operator will be able to access their workload via the mobile app

Without an internet connection you can check workload on mobile app for yesterday , today and tomorrow and mark each job as done or not or paid or not plus pay method , Then when an internet connection is available you hit the sync button and the PC version and mobile version is all updated automatically .

Plus their is a debt list on mobile app as well so you can see at a glance who owes you money

If you need to invoice a custy you just open up custys details click invoice it generates a invoice and you can email or print off and post . Although ideally for the invoices it would be good to add colour to company details rather than black and white .

Expenses can be added and along with income Aworka automatically generates a profit and loss statement Loads of great features that take and make a crucial part of running a business so easy .

Hope this helps a bit

Keep up the great work Chris .                     Mike

Thanks for all your support Mike. I'm confident 2013 is going to be an exciting year for aworka... lots of incremental improvements, e.g. bulk invoice printing, auto emailing of job sheets to operatives, text messaging, auto franchisee royalty invoicing, holiday planning (coming this week!), mobile improvements (adding/quoting new jobs, expenses, access to more days).

But what I'm really excited about are some of the more significant changes... a redesigned planner that's even easier to use, with alternate ways to view, including the ability to view and edit multiple users at the same time as well as more intelligent auto scheduling. I'm also hoping to develop native mobile apps for iPhone and Android...

It's going to be a busy year!

For all you aworka users, how many jobs on average per day do you schedule?

Trying to get an idea of how it works for those who employ.

I am a sole trader mate but i assume with the option for multipile users as many as you like  , and if some jobs dont get done because of weather .

You just go into planner and drop and drag each custy or job into next day or you can nudge an entire days workload forward one day if weather makes it impossible to work . Mike

Still no good alternatives on offer?

Aworka losing customers doesn't inspire me.
